Content to be

So I started my morning off with a bottle of water upon waking. It was pretty chilly this morning so I threw on my comfy warm sweats to take my baby dog "Tank" for a nice long walk around the neighborhood. I usually do that at a pretty moderate pace to get my blood pumping and to warm up my muscles. Plus my dog can get a little exercise as well. After I brought him in and replenished his food, I lit my Tibetan Tara Healing incense and had a wonderful and much needed stretching session. While I stretched, I listened to the soundtrack of the movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". I know that sounds corny but it is really relaxing! I learned that I benefit more from doing my morning stretches to that is so much better than listening to the news which is typically stressful with the sucky economic news and the violent crimes that are being reported. Anyhow....

Just a little background on that one particular incense.

The Tibetan Tara healing incense have been used for centuries as instructed by Tibetan doctors to help relieve people of stress, tension and depression. (Great way to start and end your day...with good ole aromatherapy to ease the mind and body)

I have always had a strong interest in the Indian and Asian cultures so it's not so odd for me to learn from them! Certain aspects and traditional practices of their culture promote peace or mind, clarity and relaxation. You will notice that there is a strong Buddhist influence. You don't have to be a Buddhist to appreciate some of it's philosophy on attaining a level enlightenment by the use of mind and body.

I love to incorporate things in to my life that promote healthy bodies, happiness, a positive spirit and a clear/sharp mind. I also find myself giving the same guidance and advice to others. I have been studying wellness, health, nutrition and fitness since childhood. I use to coach and train people years ago, I still find myself doing it regularly. I just love helping people in general I won't get in deep with this topic yet.lol Stay tuned blogs forthcoming. Let's just say I have many ventures in the works right now.

Now back to my day...lol

For breakfast I had my yummy strawberry breakfast shake followed my herbal supplements and vitamins! Through the day I drank lots and lots of alkalized water as well as Green tea and Oolong Tea...(with a hint of lemon and honey) Mmmm yum! Something about tea is sooo soothing especially during long busy days. I will be honest though... I am a lover of GOOD coffee and foo foo lattes and frappuccinos but I stopped drinking all "cold turkey". Yikes!!! The headaches and crankiness from no caffeine have subsided... :) I know I will revisit that pleasureful sip of a pumpkin spice latte at some point or treat myself to a Java chip frap but it will be just that... a treat to myself once I am completely satisfied with my health and fitness progress...

Oh btw, no matter how healthy or how fit you "think" you are there is ALWAYS room for improvement! Since the bulk of my eating habits are all raw whole or juiced veggies and fruits... I fit in essential nuts and legumes. I also do a little salmon, tilapia or shellfish when I venture out to the "meat" category. I do not eat any other meat or meat based products of any kind. I keep it as Vegetarian as possible. If for some reason I do consume something with meat or dairy based products in it by accident my stomach will definitely let me know! But because my sense of smell and taste are so strong from eating raw veggies and natural foods I can usually smell or taste it immediately as soon as it hits my tongue. One of the benefits of being a "greenie"... your sense of smell and taste are heightened to an amazing level. ;)

For lunch I ate a wonderful chopped salad that I made with romaine lettuce, baby spinach, arugula, radicchio, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, avocado, carrots, a dash of walnuts and yummy spicy sprouts and alfalfa sprouts top it off! Last but not least, I drizzled a tiny bit of my very own homemade strawberry vinaigrette to add a zing to it. ;) Mmmmmmm mmmmhhh! :) Hit the spot. I also have a small snack bag with a handful of unsalted organic almonds as well as a snack bag of fresh strawberries to munch on if I get taste for a treat. ;)

I normally drink lots of water but I am hydrating myself a bit more today as I do with other days were I have a rigorous cardio/training session. Today I have a hardcore kickboxing training session which usually wipes me out by the end but oddly when I am sore or exhausted from working out I feel awesome! those endorphins work overtime.lol That's fine because when I finally get home I will be able to settle down to the scent of great incense, mellow music and a cup of peppermint tea while I soak in my delightful aromatherapy bath... Peppermint and rosemary tonic and jasmine body sugar scrub to exfoliate and renew my skin. Keeps my skin oh so soft... with the sugar scrub I barely need any moisturizer as the scrub itself has natural sweet oil base to it. Man oh man! I can't wait to get home after thinking about it.lol Off to kickboxing I go!!!!

Until next time loves!!!!
